LANDLORDS:

MANDATORY 5 YEAR REPORTS

At the start of this year the Government introduced new regulations for all rented properties that are let by a landlord or an agency. All newly rented properties must go through an electrical safety check (Electrical Installation Condition Report – EICR) and a 5 year mandatory certificate must be issued.

This will now come into force from 1st July 2020 and will also be enforced for all existing tenanted rentals as of 1st April 2021. This change to the regulations will bring a better standard of safety in the rental sector.

This will be a welcomed improvement for any safety-minded landlord or tenant. We work in partnership with many landlords and agencies to help with the compliance for this new regulation.
